bouncing oil pressure gauge in 85 carrera

Anyone know a quick fix for the oil pressure gauge needle bouncing slightly from 4-2 bar range. The oil pressure is consistently where it should be but I'm wondering if cleaning the contact between the sender wire and sender or connections behind the gauge and the gauge would be the cure for the bounce?

Is it a sign of impending failure of the sender (located in the middle of the engine and hard to get unless engine dropped?).

Clean the contacts, or replace the sender (that's what I did).

Happened to me. the contact point was loose. Clean them and shove it back in there. The problem went away.

Good luck.

oil level is not the problem, dipstick is accurate measure . I keep oil level just above low mark at idle after warmup on level ground.

Have to try cleaning contacts in time
