Torsion bar install Q
Well I greased up the left rear torsion bar and attempted to install into the torsion bar tube. It seems to have made it into the interior spline area but how can I tell if its in all the way?
Can I pound on it with a hammer? Whats the trick to getting this in all the way?

You can tell by "feel", and if it holds itself in a centered position. Also, once you put the spring plate on, you'll quickly be able to tell if the torsion bar is in all the way, as the spring plate won't fully seat if it's not. On the other hand, you'll probably end up re-indexing the bar a couple of times to get the desired spring plate angle, so you'll have plenty of practice!

I've thought of this myself. Is it possible to push the bar in too far?
My thought on this is I'll mark the bar somehow relative to the inner fender wall and then look for that mark to move a distance equal to the inner spline length, about an inch. |

Scott - if there is not a bar on the other side, you can actually push the bar all the way through the car. But with one bar in place you cannot push the other side in too far.
