Show me your carbon fiber door "PANELS"

I had this vision last night, I just want to see if it would look as good as I think it might.

I've thought about it. A bit too spendy for me to get good quality flat panels of that size.

I have two very nice quality flat panels that I had made for the doors panels that I had planned to make. I think that I spent close to $275 for both panels. I am probably not going to go that route now and I would be willing to sell them if anyone is interested in making some door panels.

John Simone makes real carbon door panels and other accessories for the 911 and 993. They are REALLY nice!! do a search here and on rennlist to see if there are any pics of his panels. His red car was posted recently for sale - super wide 75 RSR look with checkerboard stripe

Not to put a damper on the CF door panels as I'm sure they look reeeally nice. However, CF is brittle and has a tendency to break into shards like glass, as might happen in an unexpected collision. IMHO, I'd prefer any CF (except for a bit of it on a shift knob) to remain outside of the insides.

"Rain on my parade."

Just want to make sure our buddies here are safe and sound.

I would accept faux as an alternate due to the safety factor.

This looks interesting (although not even remotely related to this thread). Sorry, I was waiting for a thread to show this and this was the closest I could find. Imagine.

You can get material that looks like CF to wrap your exisitng panels...I think AppBiz or Pelicna can get it since Pelican sells AppBiz's stuff.

"Okay I give.. where do you sit in the thing?"

It's a center-mounted seat. The unknown is getting there. I would imagine left or right side pod arms swing out of the way. Oops, watch that parking brake handle on the way in/out. A crane through the sunroof is another option. This is American ingenuity at it's ............... (you fill in the blank).

you can buy poly or epoxy resin and carbon fiber mat, then if you have 2 large pieces of glass use it to sandwich the cf mat and epoxy for a perfect flat piece then trim to fit
