Assuming you have someone willing to help in Europe... would it be difficult to get any car/gear-box/engine this side of the Atlantic?

Doubt it'd be a problem. I do have folks who could help me, but that G50/21 is still a bundle of money. The dollar really sucks right now.

Not quite sure what is so exciting about the prices/cars?
If you do the math currently about 76c/euro they are not really bargains esp. as some of the auctions are still going.

Cost for shipping cars from US to UK is currently around $7-800 before taxes and duty. I imagine Germany to US would be similar.

Old Turbo cars are actually reasonable in Europe due to gas prices. They are not as collectable as some of the similar NA models.
Old long hood cars are however more popular and fetching better prices. 964 cars are dirt cheap! maybe due to their bad reputation, so a bargain can be had there!.
