I have a 1976 911 cabriolet (conversion) with a '79 3.0 engine in it. Today I went out to start the car, and I turned the key, I heard the fuel pump was running, which is normal, and then when I attempted to start the car, I heard a "click" and the car died. I tried re-starting it, but it was totally dead. Nothing happened. The fuel pump did not run or anything. I went out to charge the battery, but the battery was fine. Could this be a starter or solenoid problem?
Thanks!

Do you have the other normal functions with the key on, such as the waning lights, etc? Do the headlights come on? Radio playin' some forgotten song?

It could be a bad electrical connection such as a battery terminal connection that is corroded and/or not tight.

Thank you for your suggestions. I played with the power cable, and it was loose, and now the car starts fine. Thank you again for your help. Maybe my 400th post brought me the luck?
