Black or chrome window trim?
I am getting some paintwork redone on my car, courtesy of my dog scratching the entire bonnet in one foul jump.
I have a copper coloured 911 SC which has really faded black (almost silver now) window trim which I might get replaced while they are doing the rest of the cosmetic work on the car. What do you think will look better on a copper coloured SC? Black or Chrome window trim? Anyone got pictures of both?

Personally, I like dark trim on a light colored car and chrome trim on a dark colored car. Otherwise the effect gets lost because the trim and paint are too similar. Good luck with the paint work!

Chrome doesn't belong anywhere on a 911, if you ask me. Which I guess you did...

I guess I'll go against the grain...I like the chrome. Chrome on an impact bumper car is pretty unique. ...then again, there may be a reason for that.
Still, if only to keep it "accurate", chrome on a '77 is period correct.

I agree with Fred about light/dark colored cars. I'd like to see more cars with chrome trim.

Black was an option for '77 so would be correct. My '77 has it and I much prefer it over chrome.

OK, I'll go way against the grain here. I LIKE the faded anodized look which is what I think you have. We like to call that Patina. ...it is something earned by an older car.

My 76 is exactly the same colour and has both satin black and faded anodised trim on the back window
(don't ask, I don't know why) I'll see if I can get a picture for you its easy to see the difference Tim

my 78sc has chrome trim, it was one of the 1st 50 coupes made, ive been told its likely that the chrome trim was "laying around". i like it as its different, plus it "works" on my car, as ive been told.
i also have only a drivers side exterior mirror. i used to want to put a passenger side on, but since ive been more aware if the unique aspect of the two i would change nothing. chrome, if it works. everyone has black on the 78 & after cars, if what everyone got works for you well then...

Well, I have crome trim on mine, but it flows with my Stainless steel targa bar, the crome trim on the rear window, the chome door handles, my chome H'4 rings, and polished Fuch's.

Hmm tough call,
I don't think either option looks bad. But as someone said earlier "match your door handles" which are black on my car. I will probably go with black, but it's a real line ball decision I think on which looks better.

Personally a big fan of the shiney chrome look. I've stripped the old faded black off my trims and even added an old chrome rear deckvent to add to the shiney look. Would love to get hold of the wheel arches trim too! M

Nice pic, Bobby!
As I told you at Aarons, the bright trim looks fabulous on your car! How's things going in the Great Northwest?
