What's the right spacer size?

What's generally the right width for the tire to fit in the body? should the edge of the tire be as far out as the edge of the wheel well? Or should it be that the rim is flush with the body? I know it's mostly a matter of opinion but what's typical?

I have an SC with an after market tubo body and the PO didn't put spacers on so the tire are hiding way under. Looks lame.

I'm thinking 1" all the way around. How would this affect handling?

we don't know your gap your wheel size, etc. Look for Bill Vergurgs wheel info and use that as a guide.

If you post a picture of your car that might help as well. However, I think the standard for turbo bodies is 1' in the back and smaller in front, like .25 or .5. The backs are the bolt to the hub type and fronts go over the existing lug nuts (I think).

Sorry. Finger spasm. I meant to type Bill Verburg.
