Painting engine shroud
I wanted to paint the engine shroud before I installed it back on my 3.2 engine. Does anyone know what kind of paint and process you need to follow so the paint actually sticks?

The shroud is fiberglass, you can just clean it real well, rough it up with some 400 grit sandpaper and paint away with any off the shelf spray paint.

Be sure you like the painted look -- it is not the same as stock.
to restore - sand with very fine paper, then use a Fiberglass polish from the hardware store.

Plastikote works well. It has a very shiny finish, almost wet looking and as it is made for brake calipers, handles the heat and is extremely durable. I did my shroud, airbox, and tin. Looks like new.
