RSR front strut part# is there one?

Thanks guys!! |

So I have my answer.. -Eric |
Are the strut housings threaded or not? RS Struts should be full threaded and yes, they will say Bilstein stamped into them. The spindle should have a 30 mm height increase so as to lower the vehicle and a welded on reinforcement on them. But, threaded housings will be the tell-tale sign.

Thanks..
The ones that I have were .. "said RSR" struts but they are just BOGE sturts.. I know you can still replace the inserts... but they are still not Bilstein RSR. they have no triangular brace nor were they the green they were painted by someone.. not from the factory they were black I am sure as the paint under the green was black.. so I am sure these are just BOGE struts that were painted up BILSTEIN green and maybe has a revalved insert but not real deal RSR strts.. Thanks for the post though.. -Eric |
Here is a real RSR front strut.

I do not think the 2.8 RSR strut is threaded at all.
The RSR moniker has been misused too often on struts. It has been used to describe Bilstein struts, with or without reinforcments, with or without raised spindle, or to describe a specific shock valving which is nonsense considering the factory had a lot of different valving for different tracks and diferent weathers. I'd hate to use a RSR strut from Monza on the Safari, yet both were threaded (in 74) and both had strehnghtening plates. |
Yeah that is NOT what I have......
The ones I have are BOGE that were painted to look like BILSTEINS -Eric |
