Fuel Delivery Problem on Carrera

I've been tracing down a problem with the right side cylinders (4-6) not firing on my 84 3.2L Carrera. I have completely tested the injector connections and the DME. Everything is pulsing just fine. However, when I pull the spark plug number 4 it is dry. Does any one know of a condition that could deliver fuel to the left side and not the right? I was thinking perhaps the fuel pressure regulator or fuel pressure damper might be the culprit.

I definitely have spark to the right side (new plugs, induction RPM measures the same as the left side) and the motor idles fine just with the left side firing.

I always thought the plugs fire in pairs of three's...but Chris Bennet convinced me that all 6 fire at the same time for the 84-89 series.

Yepp..I'd look at the fuel regulator ( one side) and pressure damper( other side) to see if they somehow are splitting your fuel delivery in half..

3 or 6? That's still a mystery to me. If all 6 fire at the same time how come the DME has 2 seperate pins to pulse the injectors. One pin for the left and one pin for the right.

Anyway. Thanks for the confirmation. Do you think testing the fuel pressure may highlight the problem?

Maybe one driver stage in the DME doesn't have enough juice to drive all six injectors?

I believe Chris found that *internally* even the two pins were "sourced" from one electrical signal .....we may need to do a search again..

Yes you are correct. Both pins are connected internally according to LorenFB. It can be tested by doing a continuity test beween both pins.
