More MFI tuning data from Club Race
Here are some data captured using the LM-1 during the Lime Rock Club Race practice sessions.
Basically, my problem was that the main rack and the idle adjustment were set WAY too lean on Friday. I was able to record a couple sessions, and it was evident that the mixture was leaning out to 15:1 or so, when I wanted best torque of around 12. The symtpoms were weak throttle response, significant lag before power came on, and general gutlessness. So after a brief attempt at a correlation adjustment, I richened the idle adjustment by two clicks to the right and the main rack by three clicks to the left. The power returned! Still not perfect, but you can at least see the AFR is in the right range. ![]() Under load, working through the gears. Obviously this is NOT a steady-state test. ![]() Still more to work on. I turned my 02 sensor black and burned through the fiberglass insulation, I think it might be time for a new one.
