Removed the AFM, cleaned it, and adjusted the wiper arm so it had good contacts as documented at http://frwilk.com/944dme/
I also removed the mixture plug and played with the mixture. Ended up at 6 turns open. That was a while ago while I had some other problems. I 've corrected all of those and now it's time to make a more actuate measurement/adjustment.

Mike,
I'm impressed! Now that you got your hands inside the AFM, it would not be that difficult to tweek the mixture yourself by adding some spring tension or moving the pointer a few degrees back as long as you make a reference mark so you could put it back to where you started. Make small changes, take it for a spin and see if it helps. Cheers, Joe |
