Not sure where to post...

I'm new to the board and I've got a few general questions about 911 ownership. I didn't want to ruffle any feathers -- is this the appropriate forum?

This be the place to disuss any 911 technical problems. I would recommend you start a new thread with an appropriate subject line that touches on your problem.

We like 911 photos too. So if you have any of your ride, post them with your problem.

Welcome aboard!

You might also try to do a search first. I can usually find 90% of the answers I need that way.

Welcome to the Forum. You will find lots of useful Porsche information here. Much of it is archived and readily available via the ”Search” function,

You will find there is no such thing as a dumb question, particularly if you have searched the subject and don’t fully understand the prior posts.

The f.a.q. button answers many questions but definitely not all. There needs to be a section on condensing and posting images – a mystery to many new to the Forum. There should also be a section on Forum etiquette. (hint Wayne) This a uniquely civil technical forum and should stay that way. There is the OT (Off Topic) forum for the other. I never go there.

There has developed quite a Pelican following with “Fun Runs,” Gatherings of the Flock so to speak, tech sessions, etc. some in conjunction with PCA and the other Porsche organizations and some as last minute fun ideas.

This particular 911 Technical Forum and move very fast (occasionally 6+ pages per day) and it is easy to loose track of a thread. I have to use the Search Function to find my own posts. I understand the Pelican site is in the top 100 most active in the world.

We all try and remember that this Forum is a gift to the Porsche community from Wayne Dempsey and Pelican Parts. We try and reciprocate by sending him our business and recommend Pelican Parts to others.

You will find it helpful to have your location listed (go to “Edit Profile”) so local Pelicans can help you. It is also useful to list the year and model of your 911 in your signature line so when you ask a question it is in context. I like to address members by their real first name, not screen name.

You will find this Forum a wonderful experience, abet somewhat addictive. Some experience withdrawal symptoms when the system goes down. Wayne tells us there are 47,000 registered members on the Pelican Forums. I think it is now more.

Again, welcome.

Best,
Grady
