Porsche Reflector alternative?

I broke the Porsche reflector on the back of my car. I was thinking that maybe there is something else I could do that would look nice with the space. Any ideas or pictures?

I am stumped. I have sheet metal and a mig. Oh, my dad is a TV repair man with an awesome set of tools, so I am up for making something.

Thanks,

David

Thanks Jeremy.

Beyond my expertise. I would really mess things up then.

Do a search - nothing but drilling out some welds and installing a fiberglass fender

David, I've got a rear reflector you can have.

It's black letter and in very good shape cosmetically. BUT, I need to pull the poor quality reflector off my car and take the back off with studs to put it on this one which has no studs. Just got it from Wil Ferch (thanks Wil!) Shouldn't be terribly hard to make it look brand new and functional.

Have a new red letter version for the car to put on when/if I ever repaint.

I'll get to work on it this weekend.

That's a generous offer, man I am going to owe you big on this one. He's already lent me his MIG for like a month.

I do really appreciate it, hopefully with all the work I have done on my car, I'll be able to repay you somehow with my acquired skills if they can be called that.

Geez, I already owe you big for letting me borrow your MIG. Hey, do you need a bisquit joiner for making cabinets for your products. I have a like new one I will give you in a trade. It's got about an hour on it.

Let me know. I'll talk to you off line anyways when we head out in the big city.

David

It's no biggie for Shaun....he's busy going on dates with beautiful women and building successful business.

Oh BTW, you can always switch over to the updated reflector with the almost invisible lettering. Just another consideration.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves! Neither G9Girl nor Elise are sure things.

If I could only get David to come over and manage our finances (assuming we have some )

I made an acrylic panel that is painted the body color and bolts in with the stock holes. If I want the reflector back, it will go back in place with no problem.
I think it looks clean, and in my case it kept a bit of the long hood look, even though I've gone with the newer style bumper.

Wil-

They are just some plastic ones that I got at NAPA(I think). They came with chrome, but I painted them body color. If I did it again I might get the lighted plate bolts instead.

I just wanted to write and say thanks to Shaun for dropping off the reflector. The thing is gorgeous. I put it on my primered car last night. The thing is great.

Shaun, your the best man. Thanks for everything. Not just the reflector but all the support also. I'll pay you back someday.

Strange how things can change. I thought that day I broke my old reflector was a crappy day. Looking back now, it turned out to be a really great day. I lost a reflector (temporarily) but as a result, made a good friend.

Thanks again,

David

More than mutual David! I can't wait to see your car when it's done, you've done an amazing job with it.

BTW, this is just all part of my master plan to get you on board with G9Girl!

There's a product for you Thom. A fiberglass panel with PORSCHE embossed into it. Kind of understated and retro.

Oh, it is all making sense now.

Well count me in as soon as I pass that exam. Seems much more exciting then what I am currently doing. Accounting for a start up, exciting stuff.

When I finish this car (well this project), I should have lots of free time. Not much longer.
