WUR Fuel Line
Just woke my SC project car up from a long winters' nap in the barn.....but noticed a cracked line that our host doesn't seem to stock.
Can anyone confirm the Porsche part number for the half metal/half plastic fuel line that runs from the top of the fuel distributor to the warm up regulator (I believe it is the fuel pressure control line) on a '83 SC? I think it may be a 911 424 551 02. Below is a picture (courtesy of Aigel from a previous topic): ![]() Hope I can get this straightened out so I can fire her up! Thanks in advance.

I think he's talking about item 51 in the picture. I just had my off this weekend checking fuel pressure spec's with my gauges. I could be wrong, but I think it is all metal, with the half going towards the WUR being covered by a rubber outer layer. However, I'm not completely sure.

It's actually number 51 in photo, and it is approx 3/4 metal from the fuel distributor and 1/4 rubber hose with a plastic core on the WUR side. I think there were two different part numbers, one for SC's through 1980, and another for SC's 1981 and up. Maybe the difference is that one is all metal and the other is only part metal.

On my engine, hose 51 was semi rigid black plastic that matches the fuel injector lines, although possibly a different diameter. If NLA, you could fab your own w/ material from McMaster Carr. If you search you will find a lot of help from others on how to do this.

Thanks all. I finally located one for around $50.
I decided not to try the fabricated method. This line is on the pressure side of the system, and since it is directly over the intake mans, I did not want to risk fire. Besides, the original "flexible" part of the line is a unique type of tubing....it has a plastic core approx 3mm id, then this is wrapped by braided cloth, then encapsulated in a semi-hard rubberized coating. I looked on McMaster and did not see anything of this nature. I assume Porsche had some mad reasoning for engineering the part this way, just as they do for most other things. The part was cheap enough to just play it safe, buy it preman'd and bolt it on. By the way, the part number is 930.110.494.00 for 1981 and up SC's. 1980 and older use a different part number (I think it is a complete hard line).

Ed,
Where did you end up buying the line? Is it already bent properly to fit alongside the other lines? Thanks Mike

I got Al at PartsHeaven to find a new one for me since our Host does not stock this item ((800) 767-7250).
It is a stock line so I am assuming it will be formed properly to fit right in as the old one did. I'll post back when I put it in if it does not.

Ed,
Did you get the fuel line yet? Did it fit? Also, I would be interested in where the part actually came from. Thanks Mike

Yes Mike,
I got it as promised from Al. It was a Porsche-tagged new oem part and fit perfectly...all the proper bends, etc. What do you mean by "where the part acutally came from"? Do you mean the location in the car?

Ed,
I was curious about the parts house it came from. My understanding was that Al was going to find it somewhere else. I am interested in buying one also, but didn't want to bother Al if I could just buy it direct. Glad it worked well. MIke

Mike,
It was Al at PartsHeaven, but I don't know where Al pulled the part from...I guess one of their vendors. -Ed
