Heater problem

Hi hope you guys can help me, from the uk and have a 85 carrera. My heater blows hot all the time I have checked the linkage on the heat exchangers and all appears fine. There is only a switch by the handbrake no heater handle any ideas? Thanks Ian.

Sounds like you have Autoheat see Autoheat Explained

It could be your interior temp sensor. Or the heat valves on the heat exchanger could be frozen open. Does your fan still operate at different speeds?

It has to be the heater valves not closing.

Either the thermo doesn't activate them because it's toast or (more likely) the valves are corroded. The servo (It is hooked up in the console & operating, right?) pulls or releases the cable which moves the other cable which operates the valves which are spring-loaded (closed is the relaxed mode).
