Top of windshield Targa seal-where can I find one?

I'm trying to buy new front and rear seals for my targa top. I have found the front bar seal (the one that mates the targa top to the front of the targa bar) but I can't find the seal that mates the top of the windshield frame to the targa top(the one right above where the latches hook in) Does our host not sell them? or is there a special name for this seal? Please help me out-thanks

I have one for sale here, if this is the one your looking for. You can verify the part number. http://there.dino.com/harold/index.cgi?page=frontseal

Alright, where did you buy it from, so I can verify the part number

disregard my last post, I just checked the part number and yours is for an 86-89, and I have an 84, thanks for the good deal though

I believe that number supercedes all previous numbers, or so I'm told. I bought it for my '73 targa. Good luck!

Do a search on Targa seal, I do believe the origional part in NLA and the one mentioned above has superseded for all models to 89. One of my posts two or threee years ago has instructions from one of the Targa top rebuilding gurus on some minor trimming of the new part that allows the Targa top to sit down further and reduce wind noise. Highly recommended.!

If our host doesn't have them then Preformance Products or Mid America does. It's called a Seal, Windshild Frame.

84,

That's correct. They are no longer available. It was only a couple days ago there was a thread here about those seals. His name escapes me, but a guy in New Jersey posted the thread and knows all about how to modify the available seals. Do a search. I know it was no more than 5 days ago.

The current replacement seal is a beaytch to trim correctly. Unless your existing seal is completely trashed, keep it, and look for other causes for your noise.

The seal available is for 90+ Targas, and can be trimmed, but you don't want to do it unless you really have to. BTDT.

Dan Pechtel is reputed to be "the man" when it comes to Targa tops. I think he even recently posted something on the how to adapt the new seal to the older cars.

Good luck!
