I think "that" equipment is worth a little more than the evil 930...

You're right...I'm pretty sure it won't fit.

Looking for Ideas/Suggestions?
Ok, I've set aside a budget of $15k to enhance the performance of my 83SC.
The car is pretty much stock except for the SSI exchangers, a CIS airbox and upgraded gauges. I'm looking for ideas for the engine and suspension. Don't know costs for a bigger motor yet cause I haven't begun my research. The suspension work I will most likely do myself. Let's say I decide to drop a 3.6 in, Does this require that I have the 930 widebody fenders? Just wondering if it would be cheaper to just sell the SC and find a 930.

carl do a search... there are a couple of interesting threads...
I'd start with this. planning my 3.6 - behind the cost curtain You do not need to have a widebody to enjoy the 3.6. Craig's old 3.6 is a narrow body 79 SC. But when u start talking about 930s you are not just adding flares... It's better brakes, better suspension etc. Try and find a car that has already been modded if budget is tight.. You'l see what I am talking about reading that thread I gave u the link for... With 15k you can sell your car, add a couple and buy Craig's... |

But there are so many answers to this question......and none are 'correct'
So an internal soul search and see what YOU want ---

Ciao, Craig,
You're both correct. I'll probably get a myriad of answers that will serve only to confuse me with all the suggestions. I agree, it is a personal decision on what, which and how I want the car. I have read many threads regarding upgrades, engine swaps, and may other enhancements on this forum. It'll be awhile before I begin to dip into this budget I've set aside. I will be doing research on how I can best apply the budget to get the most "Bang for the Buck" Just to let you know, I've sacrificed a 2 week vacation to Thailand planned next year so I can work on this "New & Expensive" hobby I've taken on. Oh well, been to Thailand before. This is my first Porsche.

on-ramp,
That's pushing it a little. One speaker alone is bigger then the car.

If you have ever wanted a 3.6 in an early car Craig's and Jason's are both for sale currently at +/-30K$. No way to duplicate either car for that kind of money...it is less than half the build cost for either I suspect.
