Need some opinions please.....

I asked this question in the "Ultimate Targa Thread", but I need a bigger audience.

I just mounted my new 9" fuchs with Bridgestone S0-3s, 205/55-16 in the front and 245/45-16s in the rear. The car is at stock U.S. ride height and has never been hit or bent.

Does something look wrong here? Is it just the ride height, or maybe the camera angle? The car was just sitting on jackstands for about two weeks and was only driven about 5miles before this picture. The 245/45s seem very small.

Before

After

I hope someone can easy my nerves. Its been a year long battle just to get these rims.

Thanks for your time.

Every 911 is a little different. Most have more space on the right than the left.

I have 8s in the back, and am running 15mm H&R spacers with longer studs. As a matter of fact, the studs that came with the spacers were too long, so I had to put another ~5mm spacer so the lug nuts would fit on the studs. The left side has pefect "fender fill", but the right would need another ~5-8mm to match it.

So, lower that bad boy and get some spacers too.

Here's the same wheel tire/ SO3's combo. The difference being the ride height of approximately 23 3/4 rear and 24 1/4 front with no spacers.

Ron,
You'll be amazed at the difference that lowering makes. The car looks great! What color is the interior?
Dean, what is the eurospec ride height?

I think it is 25" rear and 25.5" front. I have mine a 1/2" lower about.

Well, I just got an email from my buddy at Wheel Enhancement. He says the 245/45 S03 is the same size as Bridgestones own 225/50 RE750, and B.stone engineers will not say why this is.

I guess I'm alittle screwed on this one. I have purchased two sets of tires for this car in the past year. I got a set of Michelin Sport Pilots for my 6s and 7s, and three months later I got a chance to buy these 9s. I waited for six months for a pair of 245/45 Michelins to match the fronts, but they never imported them to the states. So I went and bought the next best tire I could find. Now I have a set of 1600 mile Michelins for sale and a set of new Bridgestones that make my car look ridiculas. Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

Sorry about the rant. I guess I should tackle lowering the car when I have a chance. With the 500 coming up, I don't have any days off until June 4th.

Thanks for everyones words of encouragement. Bob, your car is fantastic! Thanks Flyer for the comments. The interior is black.

Hope to talk to y'all soon.

8 and 9 fuchs with 225/40/16 and 245/45/16 SO3's. The rear size looks fine on my car. Getting the car at the right height should help.

Weaver,
I know what you mean.
When I bought my 9's they had Pirelli P7's that I think were originals on the wheels from Porsche. Well they looked FAT compared to the S03's. I thought this might be due to the fact that they were worn quite a bit.
When I compaird my 225 S03's that I took off, the 245's were wider but not by much.

Their still a good tire and stick pretty good, they just jipped us on the width.

I think you have a two fold problem. One you had your car on stands for a couple of weeks and 2 it's at US ride height anyway.

I've herd others say that when they left their 911 on stands for a long period of time it sat higher afterwords.

Don't worry man- tires are wear items.

Here is a 245/45 BFG at stock height. I was thinking of adding spacers as well.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate everyones input. The rant before was also from the fact that I just got my VISA bill!!

I now think after seeing all of these examples everyone has posted, that lowering willcorrect the problem. Now it just finding the time. I really don't want to add spacers because I waited so long to find 9s so I didn't have to use them. Maybe I will now.

Thanks everyone.

Horsebend CC.

If I'm not mistaken that's right around the corner from me on Holcomb Bridge road?

I'm in Peachtree Corners right off of Peachtree Industrial.

Thanks for the compliment! I still have the 6's up front until the 7's are refinished to match the new 9's...

Ron,
Just had wings and beer with him last night - helped a guy swap an engine in a 356SC. I sent him the thread. If you know of a set of 8s or 9s for sale let me know - I'm running the street tires on the 6s &7s and I can't stan to look at it!
