I'm looking for the best way to ship large items (drivetrain) long distances. UPS cant be the only game in town. Some of you guys must have favorits, any recomendiations/sugestions? Going from central Mi. to Fl. I might have to drive to Detroit.
Thanks, Mike

Greyhound has really good rates and stations close to almost anyone in the US. They do have size limits but many parts can fit in their compartments.

also check out FedEx ground - good rates as they are trying to take business from UPS
and what about DHL - they are trying to take business too I often find you can save a few bucks with one place or the other on certain wts. to certain places (or distances) but other combos are cheaper with another place.

If the item fits in classifications that fed ex offers I would go that route. I like them much better than UPS or DHL and Post office as well. Just a tip for anyone the fed ex customer counter is much much cheaper than the middle men shippers

yes - watch out for the pack & shi[p] places
2 other tidbits: Fx prices increase a lot for oversize pkgs. & you save a bit if you set up an acct. and print the way bill on your computer - also faster - just drop it in a box if it fits, or drop at any Kinkos! nice for me as I save 6 mile trip.

I second Greyhound, very reasonable, they operate 7 days a week, fast service, and more importantly...everything made it!
