Question another TYRE (Tire to us yanks...) question

I had B.S. 205/55 Potenza re940's on Fuch's 6x16 on all 4 corners but the rears went by by so I went down to Costco & bought 2 Potenza re950's....couldn't find any 940's available anymore. Now it turns out that my new 950's are H series & my 940's (old fronts, now on the rear) are Z rated... I don't notice any difference & I don't drive my Targa over 115 around town...

Did I just waste $250 on the wrong tires???

Probably not. It depends on what happened -- ie.e did you select the tires or did they select them for you after looking at your car. I'd go by and tell them the situation. If they selected, then ask the guy to guarantee you that there will not be any safety problems (or greater problems than with all tires rated the same). If he won't do it, then ask for an exchange. If he won't exchange, then remind him that he just admitted there were safety issues and does he really want to be on the hook for that...

re: blue... What part of SFO do you live in?

I have the Bridgestone Potenze RE950's and am very happy with them. They are sticky, quiet and hold the road well. I think the "z-rating" is overrated for us non-track guys...

sorry I took sooooo loooong to reply to the replies. (my excuse got eaten by my dog...)
I chose the tires...the Costco guy did point out that orig. equip were V rated...a was pretty sure that H was rated up to 135 MPH....faster then I ever need to go...but then after the fact I thought about the handling issue in that I drive a lot of curvey Mt. roads here in the Blue area. I suppose the sidewalls are a bit stiffer on the Z rated tires ???? I am happy with them so far & wonder if anyone else, besides Art Z. has put less then Z rated on their 911's & lived to talk about it !!!!!
