Twas the night before DE (pics too)...

Took a half day today and polished up the Targa. Just finished full suspension rebuild this week (took me 3 months of ordering parts and labor). Full front/rear Elephant Racing bushings, revalved Bilsteins, 22/30 torsion bars, Weltmeister adjustable sway bars, Tarett front monoballs, Elephant Racing rear monoballs, Elephant racing low friction control arm mounts, rebuilt calipers, new rotors, speed bleeders, turbo tie rods, replated spring plates/covers/bolts, new Kuhmo MX's all around and a corner balance/alignment--probably forgot a few things too. Gave me an incredible feeling of satisfaction completing the work by myself with the help of a local club racer Sandy Steckman. Still spent a fortune (ouch). Here's a few pics in the evening sun.

Very nice. What's the details on the exhaust. Enjoy the DE.

Your car looks very sharp. I really like the boxster wheels on there (to my surprise). I'm sure you'll have a blast at the DE.

Just a clarification for others, the bushinges etc are Elephant Racing and not ERP. ERP is a completely different company.

Another example of how nice Targas can be.

Let us know how the rear monoballs perform......hehehehe

Thanks for the props. Today's DE went pretty well except for my agricultural excursion on session two that bent my front fender slightly and had to be rolled back under and cracked the paint. Aside from that the steering response is really the best improvement from the suspension changes. It really is MUCH sharper and tighter. I need to make some adjustments with the ride height which I was told was too high all the way around--especially the rear which did feel squirrely on several high speed turns on throttle. It was the first track day on new suspsension and I trimmed 6-7 seconds off last years lap times. BTW, I used Meguire's NXT wax for the first time and that stuff is incredible.

Good to hear no more damage than that. I rather repaint a front fender than a rear any day, wouldn't you?

Looks great. And I know what you mean by the snappy steering response. I don't know that I'd like a little of the "old" slower response back. Especially at the big track. Autox you can't wait for the car to turn.
