I'm considering a set of 3 piece Fuchs wheels from Lindsey Racing. These wheels use 20 bolt BBS wheel halves with a Fuchs center. I use the car for both street and DE's. Would these wheel halves hold up with regular street driving? Is anyone running these or have any experience with them? Thanks in advance.
Also, I did a search and didn't find anything on the 3 piece, only the 2 piece. |

Not sure about Lindsay's wheels specifically, but I have been told by more than one wheel manufacturer (not a sales outlet but a mfr.) that the BBS wheel halves are some of the strongest and best available. Especially if they have the rolled outer lip.
As far as I know, the only two issues related to using a racing wheel for the street have to do with pot-hole resistance and DOT regulatory approval. People have been using Panasport wheels labeled "Racing Purpose Only" on the street for years and I have heard nothing but praise for them. Any large diameter lightweight wheel with a low profile tire is prone to damage on the street. I wouldn't hesitate to use a racing wheel on the street but the roads here in SoCal are decent overall and I try to avoid whatever bumps/potholes there are anyway! ![]() |
