Has anyone replaced the O/E (?) alarm switch in the door of a Carreara with any other type switch, is it just on/off?

It's got a specific resistance value. If the wrong walue is in the circuit, your fuel pump and starter are disabled, and the alarm goes off, if I remember correctly. The switch is inexpensive and easy to replace if you need to, or just wire in the proper resistor from radio shack.

Not exactly ... it has two resistors. The test values are given in bentley.

I had to get a switch with keys from the dealer, it was about $100 or so.
