carpet removal

Well this might be the dunbest question but how do you remove the carpet in the pedal area..I want to service the pedal cluster and I cant get the carpet off the gas pedal to get the acess board off.....I know it is something easy but darn if I can fiqure it out...Thanks..

Just pull back on the gas pedal and the link should pop right out the back. You may really have to yank the pedal, it's in there pretty firmly. Then remove the carpet...

Works like this on my car.

Ah - but it is hard as ehll to get the sucka back in -- I use a vice grip to hold the link behind the ball end. With that and 20 minutes worth of steady cursing, it went in fine.
