Bumperette - Ouch - $$$$

I have a crack in my left side bumperette and was looking for a new one. Almost $600 on our host - ouch. Any suggestions for where to get something more reasonable in price? I've got an '88 911 Targa.

Or any super-glue type miracle stories for how to repair a crack in it?

I would post a WTB in the used parts classified section.
I loved your picture at the quarry.

How bad is the crack? Maybe just leave it?

What if you tried this?

There are some good used ones out there, I’ve got two pairs, if you want to go the used route. PM me and I’ll send you some photos.

I have a set, came from my 87 Targa and fitted the euro ones. One has a slight slit in the bottom, the other is fine. For very little money + shipping you can have them. Pm me.

Thanks you David

As my ad states they are as new as you can get without paying $600 for just one. These would be the correct ones for the OP's Targa.

@ Beren, just had a look and the left one (drivers side) is fine. It's the right one that had a slight slit in it.

$60 for the left one (or the pair of you want the right one as well) + shipping and its yours.

Looks like I am getting to this post a little late. What I would do is sand smooth, fill the crack with some elastic caulk you would use in the kitchen or bath, then spray black with a quality outdoor paint. Save the funds for the next project.

Rawknees, I can’t believe you drive that fake turbo VW. You need to be like the rest of us and drive a pure Normally aspirated slow 911. Also, since I rebuilt my AC my system works really great when it is cold outside!!!! Your system is over rated and uses more fuel!!!

Again, plastic dip sprays on perfect. You cannot tell the difference when side by side. Also my rubber bumper has not peeled off in 3 three years.

Great tip. I've been hacking up a pair of guards for my project, and was wondering how to get the various flaws out.

No need for a NA 911, NastyNick - if I want to drive slowly I'll just take my 1990 E350 box truck (DMFI Diesel, buttofcourse)!!!

So true about the Plasti Dip on rubber parts. I have been using it for years to referbish the instrument panel eyebrow strips on small aircraft - works and looks great and holds up in the TexAss sun.

Yep about the more fuel - I probably get 8 mpg with it blowing as opposed to my usual 9-10!
