Engine restart - CIS ?

I will, hopefully, be putting the motor back in soon. Question is, do I jump the wires at the relay so just the fuel pump runs to fill the fuel system, or do I just turn the ignition on, lift up on the throttle sensor arm, and let the fuel fill everything, then try and start the car.

Still kind of new to this system, and I took the entire CIS down to replace o-rings, gaskets, air box, etc.

TIA, Brian

I usually turn the ignition on, I have pulled the injectors and run them into 6 little plastic bottles as not to pour gobs of gas into the
heads and cylinders, I push up on the sensor and listen until all the injectors sound like there in harmony. It is very easy to get to much gas into the engine without pulling the injectors.
I've done it both ways if you leave them in, listen for the injectors chirping to level off and your done.

Push up on the sensor plate until you hear the injectors start to sing then fire it up.

Actually, it wouldn't be a bad thing to crank the engine long enough to build oil pressure before it lights off.
I wouldn't prime it until you have oil pressure.
Some guys pull the coil wire off but that might flood the engine. When I started mine after rebuilding it I just cranked it until it started. took a few seconds.

If you are going to crank it to get oil pressure. it is a good idea to pull the cold start valve connection first to prevent possible backfire when starting.

Okie Dokie, if my math is correct, that's four distinct opinions. I assume all of these would work just fine since the poster has done it. Right???? Ahhh, the old days when you had an oil squirter full of gas and just quirted it in the carb and waited for ignition, or flames. Those were the days!!
