Oil Filter question
silly question..but I have a brand new 'still in the sealed box' Mahle Oil Filter that has been sitting in my garage for the last 5 or 6 yrs. Do you think I can still use it or should I be giving Wayne more money.

I personally would not use it. I've had quality filters rust on the shelf in less than a year. I stopped purchasing oil filters in quantity for that reason.

Thanks for the input. Guess I need to open the box and have a look at it. My concern was the filter material inside breaking down. I assume its a paper element and I don't want small fibers clogging up my oil passages.
