Upgrading pads only only on front brakes?
 

I'm thinking of running Pagid orange pads for my next track visit, but I'm considering only putting them on the front. Is that a bad idea?

Been running Pagid orange on my fronts for several years now. Improved braking considerably. No problems. They do wear the rotors more than stock pads. Only problem is the price. Seems to go up $10 or $20 every few months. I put some Ferado's on the rears after a year or so. I couldn't see any difference.
I may try a different brand if the Pagids keep going up in price. Any ideas out there?

Depending on how you use the brakes...Porterfields have been OK for me R4s and R4S. I like the Pagids though...on the street I use the Sport Dark Blue and the track I have been likeing the R 14 Blacks. The sports are even decent for DE events and easier on the rotors.

I wasn't very clear with my question. Sorry about that! I'm wondering whether running new aggressive pads up front and old stock pads on the rear will cause me any problems. Particularly on the track.

thats a good way to play with brake bia w/o messing with bias valves. YOur SC is already set up for correct bias though, so you may cook your front rotors sooner...

Putting race compound pads on the front only will give you too much front bias on the track. Replace all four sets.

Peformance Friction Carbon Metallic pads are my favorites for the track. Call them for advice on selection of compound - they are very helpful.

Take a look at the Performance Friction PF97's or some Ferodo DS2500's. We just sold a few sets to some customers for a DE and they responded with very positive comments.
