What's it worth??
OK, I'm a little sideways here, sorry. I just picked up a 30 pound bottle of freon (no charge). I weighed it, and it's 17.5 pounds. The tank isn't as thick as a propane tank, so I'll deduct about a pound and a half. Assuming I have 16 pounds of Freon, what is it worth?
I'm just curious,,,,NO, it's not for sale. TIA, Brian

That doesn't seem right. A 12 ounce can of R134 is 14 to 15 bucks and rising. Oh well, like I said, it's only curiosity

Are you planning to command retail pricing? When someone asks what something is worth, it is usually worth what someone will pay for it. Being R12 is now regulated pretty closely, I'm not sure what the blackmarket will bring.
Check for R12 on eBay.... or Tijuana. ![]() Thirty years ago, I think we paid 18 cents a lb. to fill a 12,000 lb vessel. I was a maintenance mgr for a thermoforming plastics company. R12 was used as the blowing agent in polystyrene (styrofoam). |
