I drove a 914-6 today. (Mr914-6's car, which is sold now that he moves to a 911.)
Congrats to our Dave Cardone on his acquistion of the very nice 914-6 R Gruppe car of Marco G. I got to drive this car today in all it's 2.4S splendor. Having a 2.4S of my own, this was quite a comparison. Having owned a 914-4 race car, this was really quite a comparsion. Outstanding! That's all I can say. I like 'em all.
For a pic, see here. |

Hey, Milt, glad you liked the car. You're only the 6th person who's driven it since I built it 8 years ago - you should feel honored
You know, I thought it would be harder to let my baby go, but I couldn't be more comfortable with the new owner and I know she's in good hands. I also know that he'll be twisting the ***** outta that motor before long!!! MAKE SOME NOISE, DAVE!! |

Dang Marco, I never thought you'd part with that car! I thought you hated the way 911's handled.
So what'd you get to replace her?

What? The "Lambo Killer" is sold!
I trust the replacement is a McClaren Killer

Tyson, read this Tells the story, at least part of it. It doesn't say he will sell the 914-6. I first heard of that when Dave called me to see what I thought of the car. I told him I didn't know anything about it, which was entirely true, even though I was standing right next to it in Monterey.
A very nice surprise when Dave called and said he'd bought it and to drive the car. As I said, my first experience with a six in a 914. There just aren't that many around in spite of what one might think. |

Tyson, I got a 1970 non-sunroof 911T ... BIG BIG plans for that car. It's gonna be my legacy (and I'm only 25
) I've got a twin plug 3.0 w/high butterfly MFI planned ... already have most of the parts, too. And, you're right, I don't particularly like the way 911s handle - but, well, the time was just right for a change. Chuck, you know it!! |
