(Restrictors) Best $8.00 upgrade yet for me!

FYI Just tossed in some oil restrictors in my 86 3.2 Orginal oil pressure was not too bad, around 1 bar at idle hot and 3.5 going down the road but wanted to try it. Hot idle is at just over 2 bars and 4.5 on the h-way, but what I really like is how my oil tank stays full and my crank case is dry, well not full of oil...

yep thats been the deal.....put mine in a bout 10000 miles ago and just pulled all the rocker shafts looked at the cams all ok (installed rsr rocker shaft seals) none of the valves were loose so I guess no wear?

Maybe installing the restrictors would also help lower oil consumption if it's getting past the guides?

There's an on-going debate over these.

On the one hand, they increase oil pressure....and keep the oil level in the sump tank more constant. I also assume it would increase oil pressure in the oil squirters for the underside of the pistons....so maybe there is an increased cooling effect on the pistons.

The counter argument is that as oil ( flow, altogether) is restricted to the head area....it's particularly this area that needs a lot of oil cooling.

I also had replaced mine last year, and have noticed a little higher pressure. and I would swear that the engine is running a little cooler than before the swap....might just be me though.

here is a little write up I had found before I did the change
