What wheels to use?

I have a '74 narrow body Targa (no flares) and want to put some meatier rubber on the car. I would like to use Fuchs wheels to keep a stock(ish) look. What do you all suggest front and rear to fit without problems? Thanks. Pics would be awesome.

Forgot to mention, I have 15 x 6 (I think) chrome and black Fuchs in very good condition all four corners with the tires I bought the car with - Sumitomo - I have no idea how good or bad the tires are.

7's are the way to go, 16x7s all around is nice setup.

If you've got ugly-money that just burning a hole in your pocket you can stuff special 951 16x8s under the rear without rubbing, but they are quite a load of $$$. Hell, you can put them on all 4 corners!

Thanks Mat. I was eyeing 16x7s on ebay just last night, what rubber would you put on them? Out of curiosity - where can I find info on the 951s?

205/55's on 7-in rims, 15-in or 16-in diameters, look really good on a narrow body. Here is a pic of Adam Chaplin's yellow narrow body with 7's and 205/55's.

I've got 215/60's on 7" rims (23mm offsets) all around, clearance at front wheels is tight (1/2" clear at wheel wells) at full wheel turns each way. They fill the wells nicely. I'd pay attention to your wheel offsets if you're planning on using a wider tire.

I was under the impression that 16" x 7 do not fit for a flareless narrow bodied P car,
I have 15" x 6.5 and have been wanting to change to 16" x 7 too but haven't for, you know , the above mentioned reason...
Do they fit or do they not (fit)????

To clarify above, I'm running 15"x7" rims, but I did have 16" fuch 7" rears, and 6" fronts previously to this set up. They fit fine. I don't know about a 7x16 front fitment though.

i suppose you could also consider using 1/2 inch spacers with your current 15x6's...
