For those NOT in the know.....Zeke aka Milt Becker, built a very nice 914/4 racer....unfortunately the motor was haunted. Melted two pairs of pistons on two seperate occassions at Willow Springs.

I bought it, converted it to a 914/6 using a 2.0 "S" motor that I bought off of Glenn Sager....the new Pelican Parts outside sales rep.

Ran very well....looks like I am prolly gonna go with a fuel cell and that's about it. Uncle Milty did a very nice job on the tub....

Congrats, Mike. For the first time out, that's not too shabby. The autoxers better start tunin' on their cars if they want any trophies and you better build another shelf in the garage.

More PICS!!??

I was the car behind you when you spun. I wasn't complaining, ended up with two reruns (once from you and then another because of timing).

Yeah...sorry about the spin. The street tires were getting a bit greasy towards the end of the day and I cooked it a little too hard on the upshift....

Like I said, no worries. I ended up with 6 laps during my last session!

Unfortunatly I had been playing with tire pressures and had them set way too high. My first lap I dropped 3 seconds off my previous best time but as the tires heated up the pressure was way too high and each lap was a bit slower than the previous one.

I didn't make the connection between the message board and real life. Next time I see you I'll come introduce myself.

Very nice Mike! Looks like Stay Puff and Manfred would be in the same class. Not that I would stand a chance against you and Manny.

Results from Sunday's event at Qualcomm are up now at this link, and even though he was running the Flintstone dino tires, MikeZ beat a factory 914-6 on Kumho V700s by .35 seconds.

Good job Michael, and it was good to see you down here again! No one recognized you without the bunny ears, though....

More pics here.
