911 Draws First Blood

Well I was taking off my 930s wheel and was having some difficulty pulling the rubber boot part off. I yanked really hard and put a HUGE cut on my forehead! I started laughing really hard, until I started bleeding pretty bad. I still laughed, but it was not as funny. I will probably have a scar, but I did not want to go to the hospital. I finished lining up the wheel and thought I would share my stupid story.

My wife is having a baby on Monday and now everyone will ask what I did. I feel so stupid, but I would not trade the car for anything else. If a woman hit me, I would probably leave. When the 911 hits me, I love her more. I think I have a problem!

You haven't really bonded with your P-car until you've dripped blood into your tranny case. Ask me how I now!

The love we all have for these cars is just amazing.

Randy

p.s. Welcome to the board, Quadry! If you haven't done so, you need to post some pics!

Just hope you didn't drip any blood on the seats or carpet. Thats what conserns me the most. I usually wrap an oily/greasy shop rag around the cut until it stops then continue the project.

I got the forehead too. Exhaust pipe. Foreheads bleed really good. Just use some SteriTape and keep it clean. Don't get it wet in the shower and you won't really have much of a scar.

Worked for me.

Ya, working on these cars, it helps to know the fine points of
coagulation and scar formation. I was just centering the rear
torsion bars with a brass drift. Thought I'd just line it up a bit with my left had and slap the drift with a hammer in my right hand. I used to be smarter. Something has happened. Probably too many blows to the head with blunt, Porsche related objects. I'll loose the nail on the finger and the story is not even that great. I'm sure it will get better the more I tell it.

Foreheads do bleed bad and I was very careful to not get any on the car. I have gone thru lots of bandaids and it is still bleeding a little bit. I smeared enought antibiotic ointment on there that I look like I just stepped out of the ring against Tyson.

I will get some pics posted Saturday and also post some of my new wheel and Momo shift knob.

Thanks for the stories guys, I knew that people here would understand. I usually lose all of the skin on my knuckles on cars, but this was a first!

My car has never made my forehead bleed.

Just don't ask about the scar on my ankle. It has NOTHING to do with 911 exhaust systems. Nothing!

Oh, and the shop rag in the garbage with the strange blood/grease mixture? Nothing to do with ankles and 911 exhaust systems. Nothing!
