Rear suspension - Parts cleanup

I am planning to redo the suspension on my '76, along with quite a few mods. I have gathered a lot of parts, and have pondered what to do with the spare pair of banana arms. I figured polishing was overkill, but the ugly foundry seams had to go. So out with the grinder, files, angle cutter, electric saw, bandages, haemostatic bandaids, etc...
Ta-dah! :

Look Ma, no seams!

Prepped for the 930 calipers:

These will go with Chuck's Monoballs, new bearings, and some other magic stuff:

OK, All you guys sporting all this WEVO "junk" are really starting to TORQUE ME OFF !!!!!

I just put WEVO engine mounts on my car. They are probably about the most plain thing WEVO offers and they are as BEAUTIFUL as they are functional !!!

That is the second WEVO spring plate mount I've seen and I LOVE it !!!

I want adjustable plates as well - COOL POJECT !!!

I think that Hayden and all those guys should just OFFER this stuff to everyone with a 911 simply because that's the way it SHOULD be !!!

AFA the control arms:
Nice blasting / cleaning job too !! Aren't they nice all cleaned up !! How are you going to re-finish them? I put a metal etching (black) primer, then black semi-gloss.

Richard,
I'll stop there. They have been grit blasted, then glass bead blasted. The finish is close to original, if a little finer. It took me about 3 hours per side to smooth out every seam, everywhere. I did clean up the ones in my car 5 years ago (not as much) and the botom half is already marked. Polishing or painting there will not hold for long it seems.
As to the Wevo stuff, well, don't we all dream of a confortable suspension that is fit for road and track? I believe most people go too hard. What is the use of 30mm torsion bars on a car thet never sees the track? The wevo and elephant setup will let me get the most out of the suspension, the 930 brakes the most out of the braking, and then, after the driver is up to par, I'll look into the engine.

Actually I agree completely !!

My car's been in the family for about 32 years and I don't want to be the one to crack the frame on it, but I do NEED to have fun in it..!!

I'm sooting for the year end award for the least experienced guy taking on the most projects at the dummest possible time !! Plus factoring in the diffulty level for some of the projects, I think I've got a pretty good lead on the competition...

Last springs project: (Not factored into the award )
Sport shocks
Turbo tie rods

This spring:
Cross drilled rotors on all 4 corners
Remove and cleaned all 4 calipers & most brake lines
Rebuilt front "S" calipers
Installed new brakes on all 4 corners
Installed new wheel bearings on all 4 corners
Removed, cleaned and replaced heater flapper boxes and ducting
Removed, cleaned and repainted "banana" control arms
Removed, cleaned and repainted rear sway bar, mounts and droplinks
Removed, cleaned and replated spring plates and covers
Removed, cleaned and replated transmission mount
Removed & cleaned engine and transmission
Replaced engine mounts with WEVO sport mounts
Replaced oil seals on top of engine block components
Removed, cleaned and repainted valve covers
Adusted all valves and recovered using silicone gaskets
Removed, cleaned, had rebuilt and repainted both halfshafts, stub axles and hubs
Cleaned torsion bar tube
Installed Neatrix sport spring plate bushings
Installed new sway bar bushings

Are you going to put some kind of clear coat on the control arms... I was thinking of leaving mine "natural" metal but didn't want the corrosion. So I decided on the black to hopefully make them easier to clean.
