Order of installation?

Hey Guys,
I am preparing to install new front strut inserts, ball joints, and turbo tie rods. Would the proper order of precedence be inserts, ball joints, and tie rods? If not, what should the sequence of install be; and why?
Thanks so much for your assistance.
Paul

My opinion

Removal: inserts -> tie rods -> ball joiints
Install: ball joints -> tie rods -> inserts

Hey Paul,

I have not installed the ball joints, but the inserts and tie rod kit can be installed in any order. I did them independently and can't see any reason to do one first versus the other.

When are you doing these? I will say that especially for the inserts, it helps to have a helper with you to hold things in place so you don't bang something or rip off a brake line......

Shout out, there are a lot of helpful Pelicans in this area

Agreed, unless you don't want the company or help. If so, be that way. Just kidding. Have you bought the parts yet? Parts Heaven swap meet is coming up. If you haven't bought from Pelican, you can buy there.

Thanks guys,
I have the parts...I may need new ball joint castle nuts, depending upon the amount of coaxing needed to remove them. If worse comes to worse, i will cut those bad boys off, and buy new ones upon installation.
Chris,
I am thinking to start the job tomorrow; if you're not doing anything you or anyone else is certainly welcome to lend a hand/guidance.
PM me if you want to join in, and I will send directions to my shanty.
Thanks again,
Paul

Damn! Me too. Tomorrow is my day to catch up on the Pcar, dirt bike and yard before going to the Giant's game.......

I would have gladly helped out Paul.

If you don't end up getting to it, let us know, maybe next weekend would work for you?

If not, good luck and let us know if you get stumped and we can help you out over the phone if nothing else.

Paul, can't it wait until next weekend? I asked my wife to play hooky from school tomorrow so we can go on a hike. Plus, this Sunday, a few of us local Pelicans are driving Mines Rd and you're more than welcome to join us. However, if you do your tie-rods, you're going to need an alignment.

You guys are great! I would wait till next weekend but I have already decided to drive down to So Cal to visit the lil woman for a few days.
I have a home in So Cal., so I'm sure there is plenty to do around the house over Mem. Day wknd. Thanks so much for your offers, but I am going to dig in and get as much done as I can this week.
If I dont chat with any of you before then, have a safe and sane long holiday weekend next week.
P.S. Thanks again Scott for documenting your work so well. Im sure I will be referencing your job while I do mine.
Cheers,
Paul
