Targa Wind deflector

I was wondering the other day if there was an aftermarket wind deflector that would mount on top of the windshield frame? Kinda like the "ventvisor" that are available for windows.

the title on another post reminded me......so I thought I would ask.

I keep a baseball cap in the car for passengers who complain about the wind. Sort of a head-mounted wind deflector, I guess.

newer sun visiors are "bent" to help deflect wind when pushed up. These improve over the older straight style. Otherwise, sagacis baseball cap sounds like your other alternative.

A helmet works great.

Honesty, there's sooooo much wind, I wouldn't know where to start.

What wind? Shaved off what little hair I had left. No more wind problem.

No need for an aftermarket wind deflector that mounts on the window frame...your car came with one. It's black, covered with vinyl on the outside and cloth on the inside. It snaps on easily and can even be folded if you want to go al fresco. I think it's called.....a TARGA TOP

Couldn't resist.

Is there really too much wind for you with the windows rolled up?

As above. When my top is off, but the windows are up, there is actually not much wind in the car. I have driven it with the top off on some cold mornings and once the engine warmed up it was down right toasty in there. Seems to form a protective pocket of air.

If you roll your windows up/down just the right amount it reduces wind.

But I keep a baseball cap handy for me, and in the glovebox a couple rubber bands for the ladies. They can go pony tail.

Someone on the board fabricated one out of screening, somewhat like you see on the boxter. Do a search and post the results.

I test drove a 1985 SC targa on one of the coldest days of the year, February in Toronto, with no top on the targa. (-27 celsius, around -20 Fahrenheit) Hands were a little cold but otherwise it was fine....

Hmmm, wonder how well it works? Anyone have one? Course I have to have a seat belt harness bar that is right in the way of that but wonder if it could be modified to fit?

The Pelican site says this product is no longer available. Anyone know what happened?

The deflector that tcar mentioned were made by a member JMPRO and offered thru Pelicans. I think he has stopped production, but at one time had seven on hand. Do a search for targa wind deflector like your thread subject and you'll find his post.
