Who made the muffler?
|
I wish I knew who made it. I bought it with the SSIs from a member here. Have never heard it so we will see.

Looks like a Monty...
Is that a daughter who was born and grew up while you were working on your engine? Or a woman you met and married while you were working on your engine? Or... were you able to do up your engine faster than me.... |

IT Runs Too
Started the new engine this afternoon. Had problems initially, I wired and rewired. checked firing order again and again, checked fuel. Finally, I checked the the airflow sensor plate and found it was stuck. As soon as I freed it the engine cranked and ran flawlessly for 20 minutes at 2000 rpm. Changed the oil, then several short rides as prescribed by Wayne's book. A few minor issues to correct. Speedo doesn't work, I will climb under in the AM and make sure all is as it should be there. The oil temp is running around 210. Normally ran about 180 before rebuild. The tstat is open and forward lines are hot so oil is flowing. So the sensor plate and also the alternator wires were crossed so I had to remove and rewire that. I won't have a chance to really push the engine for quite some time but it is very responsive and seems to accelerate smoothly at all RPMs. The upgrades by the way were 9.5:1 JEs, 964 cams, and SSIs.

Congrats again.
That has to be such a great feeling.. that first firing as the engine starts to make power on its own! I know my sense of accomplishment was flying sky high when I rebuilt my calipers. I can't image how it must be when you do an engine. :D |
