Group Buy itch to scratch over.. (a/c)
we've seen some of the recent purchase power recently with the members only-styled vintage racing jackets, how about something many of us might like to have on our CARS (looks around)..i'm talkin' about BARRIER HOSE..about what what they call nowadays chargin' freon less often..i'm talkin' bout..
okay, i have a stock system and want replacement barrier hose that i can just remove old, put on new...simple, right? can we assume that certain STANDARD LENGTHS might be made by a single vendor..whichever of the lengths you require, is your part of the order. i've seen prices for a complete set around $350, but have read threads of guys getting it done for $150. what would you rather pay and is anyone interested in this upgrade? wouldn't we ALL do, those of us with a/c, especially daily drivers, to have modern hose and NO MORE LEAKS?! whatever the consensus on condenser strategy, we all ought to agree on the utility of good hose. i'm just tossing the idea..anybody have a connection or wanna gather a list of orders? be nice to solve this pain in the ass for a whole passel of us at once..let the heartache end.. ryan |
did i just fart? why is everyone just staring...
okay, jokes over..barrier hose will be FREE..now any takers? ;) tough crowd.. ryan |
FREE, did I hear the word FREE?

bump for the sat morning drivers who were pissed-off getting into their heat-soaked cars today because the freon they had last summer has FREAKIN' LEFT THE BUILDING!

I don't know if you farted or not, but you might want to run the "group buy" thing past Wayne first. He's a tad bit touchy 'bout that.

You can do what I did, remove each line one at a time and take it to a local AC shop that is willing to make hose, they can use your existing fittings if they want to help keep the cost down. The trouble with a group buy is you may end up with a hose that has the wrong fitting on it because not everyone is useing the same parts. An example of this would be the receiver drier, some of the aftermarket ones are set up for flare fittings and some are for o-rings.Good luck.
