Universal 3 wire O2 sensor
Has anyone used the generic Bosch 3 wire O2 sensor intheir 84-86 911? Aside from splicing the connectors, are there any differences from using the OEM Bosch 3 wire which comes with connectors?

Just fine. They area made by the same Bosch company, but with a different connectors, even of the same color wires.

I installed a universal sensor on my car just before my first DE and was concerned at using a non-oem part, but it worked just fine.

I installed the universal in my car. As I recall there were two wires of one color (white?) and one of antoher color (black?) The two same-color wires are for the heating circuit. Splice them to the two same-color wires in your harness, then splice the other one, and you're good to go. I covered each individual splice with heat shrink tubing, and then I covered all of them with a larger piece of heat shrink. It works just fine, and much less expensive than the OEM sensor.

Im using a Walker in the 86...for the past 2 years. Works fine and was easy to splice and install.
