Druck (Oil) Pressure issue

Over the weekend in the Sacramento Valley area the temperature was in the low 90's.

Cruising around town during the peak temp of the day, my temperature was at 9:00. I'm not too worried about that. But one thing I noticed was that my pressure gauge was indicating a lower reading than what I have observed before the warmer climate began to creep into Sacramento.

Before, at 80mph and approx 3k rpms my gauge would show 4 and maybe a bit higher. this weekend I noticed that at 80mph the pressure gauge was reading 3. This was the first time my temp actually remained constant at the 9:00 position and down a little bit if on the freeway. I drove to my mechanic and mentioned to him about my observation and he responded that it is ok and not to worry. the oil gets thinner when hot and that the pressure was ok.

I've owned the car since December and am still learning new things about my 911. I changed the oil yesterday to see if it would change in the readings. When the car cools down, the pressure readings are back to what I was accustomed to when the weather was cooler. It happens when the car gets really hot. Any comments on this is appreciated.

Carl,
I do not believe that you have anything to worry about. It is true that when hot weather arrives and your engine gets a ot warmer that it did in cool weahter you will lose oil pressure. I have seen major differences in oils pressure in cars between 35 degress and 90 degrees. Sometimes as much as 30 psi, but that was in older american v8 engines.
