Clutch Cable 911 trans

Does anyone have a picture (not diagram) of the clutch cable where it attaches at the tranny for a 1971 911 with a 911 transmission. Typical problem, was driving car, went to engage clutch, clutch pedal went to floor. I got car home and jacked it up,took off wheel. The plastic piece that attaches to claw like arm sticking out of transmission was shattered. I replaced with aluminum piece, hooked everything up as I remembered but can't seem to see how the "claw like arm" is pushed toward the front of the car to engage.

I am very new to working on cars so it could be that I am just missing something simple. I have been looking at related threads and think that my problem lies in the fact that the cable is fixed in hole in flange on transmission and a sheath on the cable is what pushes arm forward. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.
