A terrible idea,,,,,trying to look cool. Pepita seat material. Moisture, dirt grease, oil…rust.

Hey, what could go wrong? Hell, vinyl would be a better but still a crap idea. Don’t want anything there that might trap moisture.

Yea, I was thinking that it was the seat material when I saw the pic, then thought "Naaaa, that's a bit risky" LOL.
hey nothing ventured, nothing gained.

A lot of interesting details on your car, is there a thread on it anywhere?

Yeah, there’s that, lol. Can you imagine the pull on that fabric with the lid down and the engine running? Probably why it already looks like a saggy diaper. That would do wonders getting sucked into the fan.

Bahama Yellow 912 Super 190. In the last 12 months the car got coil overs and Elephant's GT3 front suspension. 95% of the hot rod stuff is under the skin.

The 912 Super and the Pelican community deserve a thread on this build.

Plenty of places to read about this car.
On these different sites the car is sneaking up on a million page views around the world.
This is probably one of the most documented 912's in the world.
This is the first 912 in the world to have this engine type installed 2010ish.

A very cool article about Porsche almost putting a 4 cylinder 2CAM4 engine in the 912. The article is from the Netherlands. If you go to the back of the article you'll find an English translation.

I knew I had read about this car before. A few cosmetic changes maybe since I read about it years ago. Love it.

What color blue is your car. It's a beauty with all the good stuff in the build. I'm building a Ultra Blau blue 69 for a friend.

190ish hp and 170ish tq. It's hard to know for sure as there isn't an engine dyno set up in Denver for 911 type engines. So we have to use a chassis dynos at 5300 to 5900 feet elevation and guess what power would be at sea level. You have to add for elevation and add for rear wheel numbers. 10% to 15% for each depending who's opinion your using. So it's a guess.
There has been a lot learned about these engines in the last 10 years since my engine was built. Some POLO builders and Emory's engines are making 230 to 250 hp on engine dyno's at sea level. I looked into updating, but at this time I'll pass on spending the 30 to 40K to get to 230 hp. At 2100 pounds my car is a blast to drive. I can run with all stock long hoods from 2.0 to 2.4 liters and first gen Boxster's. This car was the first one and I think there are about 10 to 12 912 POLO's out there. Most in the US and Europe and one in Australia, and one somewhere in Asia.
I spent about half and hour with Emory's son in law at LUF8. We walked each other around our cars. He is young enough to be my grandson. Really nice guy. His car is stunning like anything that comes out of Emory's shop. It's been fun developing this car.

Amazing. I now remember reading the Excellence article about your car and I'm completely in love. You nailed all the details. It must be a riot to drive.

The color is Dalmatian Blue aka Oxford Blue: paint code 329-9-2
You are correct... the rims are 6Jx15 (The 4.5x15's are the super rare early Fuchs rims)

Had posted earlier in this thread - car has been completed and now has >4K miles on it. Love it!

2,133lbs, 2.5MFI, 217hp and 201tq at the wheels (estimated 250hp and 232tq at the crank with 15% drivetrain). Gotta love narrow body, small displacement hotrods!
