Help!! Car won't start
I just finished installing the engine back on my 911S 1974. I tried to start it ...and nothing. I run it and it started immediatelly. Turn it off and tried to started again and nothing!!
Starter was working fine before droping the engine, so i doubt it is the reason of the problem. I check and I do have voltage coming from the battery all the way to the alternator. Also, following advice on a post on this forums, I disconnected the black (batttery) cable on the starter and turn the ignition a coupe of times, which supposedly cleans the solenoids of the starter...but nothing. Any ideas on where to start ??? Thanks

Did you reconnect the engine ground strap? Check it, it could be loose.
How about the dizzy? Check the wires didn't pull out on you. But if by "nothing" you mean absolutely nothing, then it's something else. What exactly is it doing when you try to start? Anything? Any noises? Is the fuel pump winding up? Is the starter going? Is the engine trying to turn over and won't? Are you getting power at the starter? Sounds weird. I'm sure with all the combined knowledge here, we'll figure it out for you, if you don't do it yourself first. Take a break, then go back to it and go over everything to make sure your connections are all good and nothing's come loose. Good luck Jim

I pushed (run) the car by myself and it started immediatelly, so it is clearly something with the starter electrics...but I have no knowledge on that. Thanks again

Check the small wire on the starter for voltage. It should have 12 volts when the key is turned to start. You can also short the large battery cable to the small wire to make the starter crank. If it cranks this way and will not crank with the key, the you have a wiring problem in the starter circuit.
