83 3.2 Carrera Targa? with pics
Hi Guys and Gals, Great forum great info!
Have a question for you all. I live in Australia and im about to buy a 83 911 Carrera Targa. The engine looks like a 3.2L, and the compliance plate says 83 Carrera Targa. But the Carerra only came out in 84 as we all know! Can anyone please explain. I got a shock because it was advertised as a 3.0L 83 Targa, went and had a look and its got Carrera badging, Carrera on the comlpiance plate and what looks like 3.2L engine. Can anyone shed some light. Do the pics help? surely there would be some body differences, front bumper etc?

Yeh, its weird. I was thinking maybe it was built late 83, first registered 84...

What is the VIN? That should tell the tale. The 1st 84s would have been built in Aug 83 & would have an 'E' as the 10th digit.
