Heater woes
I have a 1989 3.2 Targa. Just had a clutch job so the motor was obiviously R&R'd. Picked up the car last night from my mechanic. about 10 minutes down the road I noticed that I was getting heated air coming into the cabin from under the dash. I did not have the heat turned on. My heater has always worked when I raise the two levers between my seats. The footwell blowers have never worked but the amount of heat I would get from just raising the levers has always been fine. I cannot figure out why I am getting heated air in the cabin without the levers raised. The rotary heat control knob between the seats is in the off or "0" position. I cannot reach my mechanic since it is the holiday weekend. Drove the car today and even with the AC on the amount fo heat coming in is just to much to be comfortable. I live in Orlando FL. Any Ideas on what I can do the get come relief before I get the car back to the shop on Tuesday? If I took the Heater hoses off that connect the heat exchangers to the heat exchanger valve housings would that negate any possiblity of heated air entering the car?

yes, but open the box so the heat dumps out first - that will be easier - a search will show you the parts & how to do it
be sure you know safety items for supporting the car & getting under it FIRST
