Bearing Seal Removal

How do I remove the inner bearing grease seal from the front hub of my '75 911? Does it have to be pressed out?

Are you talking about tthe grease seal in the back of the brake rotor? I don't have that model but if that is indeed what it is you can pull it out like a nail with a claw hammer or just pry it out with a screwdriver. It isn't in there that tight

Clean the grease out of the hub and you'll be able to tap the inner bearing through the hub so that the seal comes out undamaged. The seal is not that expensive, so replacing it while you are perfoming the job is not a bad idea.

thanks, guys... i ended up heating it up and, basically, ripping it out with a seal puller... i planned on replacing it, but was afraid i might damage the hub if i pried it out, but prying worked just fine!

thanks.
