Irridium Plugs - Any performance edge?
Is there any performance gains with these types of spark plugs? The only advantage I see is extended length of service over standard types.

The flat six is perfectly happy with copper. I always go with the plug that was OEM. It never has failed me. E.g. a 100k life platinum plug is made for engines that have more modern engine controls than what we deal with on our engines.

As long as the fire is started, and as long parts of the plug don't over heat and cause preignition or get too cold and get deposits, how could a different style plug make a difference?
You can't get any better then, "Yup, the fire is lit!"
