3.6 Just got more power

I bit the bullet and spent the money to go for the 3.6 upgrade this past winter. My first rides were just as imagined, plenty of power compared to my old 2.7. Funny thing though. As I was in the pedal cluster during a trany cable install I noticed that the gas pedal was only going about 3/4 of the way down. Well, fixed that, took it for a ride and found out why people loose control of these beasts and go off the road. I never could have imagined this much power. For those of you contemplating the upgrade, just do it you'll be glad.

So I take it you bought a rebuilt or other 3.6 and swapped em out? For one not that mechanically inclined how much would it cost$$ to have an independent shop do the swap?
Just curious.

My 3.0 is fine with only 88k miles but should it die on me and need a rebuild??? how much more would it really cost?

Thanks and enjoy!

I was fortuneately to receive a 3.6 with zero miles on a complete rebuild. Then a friend of a friend did the swap for me. He has done quite a few of these. So needless to say there is a bit of custom work especially in the exhaust system. All together the I have about $11k into it. Its not cheap and I ask myself the question every time I'm in it wheather it was worth it. Absolutely. If you're going in for a rebuild consider how much you're going to spend anyway. So the extra money is well worth it.

My engine is poised under the car about to go in. Also a full rebuild 3.6. Maybe I should put a brick under the gass peddle for the first week? Can't wait!

Congrats! The shop is finally concentrating on getting mine done after 7 weeks of sitting.
It is good to hear that all of this waiting and money will pay off with a great performing car.
Enjoy!
